Wolcott - Mr. Vincenzo J. "Vincent" Lombardo, 87, of Wolcott, passed away on Wed. morning, August 13, 2014 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Antoinette L. (Piazza) Lombardo. Vincent was born on May 22, 1927 in Waterbury, son of the late Joseph and Rosaria (Saccari) Lombardo. Vincent worked for Anchor Fastener as a tool setter for 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling at Lakewood and Wolcott Lanes, playing Santa Claus at the Anchor Fastener Christmas party and at the mall for a number of years, and attending to his vegetable garden. Vincent was an avid fan of wrestling and the New York Yankees. He loved vacationing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Vincent is survived by his two sons, Joseph Lombardo and his wife Luanne, and Anthony Lombardo, both of Wolcott; his sister, Petrina "Patty" Angelicola and her husband Frank, of Waterbury; a brother, Vito Lombardo and his wife Theresa, of Watertown; four grandchildren, Joseph Lombardo, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Lauren, Justin and Christopher Lombardo; three great-grandchildren, Lucy, Brad and Giovanni; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Brad J. Lombardo. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Prayers of committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Friday evening, August 15 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
