Wolcott Vincent F. McAvoy, 81, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was the husband of Janet (Barrows) McAvoy for 60 years. Vincent was born in Waterbury on November 6, 1938, son of Thomas and Mary (Berry) McAvoy. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, Class of 1957. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Vincent was an 8,000 hour machinist and worked for Waterbury Farrel and Anamet. He loved the UConn Womens Basketball and the NY Giants. Including his wife, Janet, Vincent leaves behind his son, James McAvoy, and his partner, Cheri Smith; his daughters, Lori Trueman, and her husband, Paul; and Kathy Buczak, and her husband, Michael; his grandchildren, Cara Frappier, and her husband, Jake; Christopher Trueman, and his wife, Laura; Ashley Trueman; Abigail Buczak; and Olivia Buczak; his great grandchildren, Jacqueline Frappier; William Trueman; and Hunter Trueman; his beloved puppy, Smokie; and extended family. Vincent was predeceased by his great grandson, James Thomas Trueman. Services for Vincent will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made in Vincents name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
