Wolcott - Steven M. Wabuda, age 68 of Wolcott, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer surrounded by family at St. Marys Hospice Unit in Waterbury. He was the loving husband of Bunny Wabuda of Wolcott. Steven was born June 27, 1946 in Waterbury, son of Steven P. Wabuda and Glenice Wabuda. He grew up in Wolcott, a graduate of Wolcott High School. He spent four years in the Navy and retired after 33 and a half years from SNET. He enjoyed reading military history, wood working, and black smithing. He was a life member of the NRA. Steve was constantly seeking to learn new things. He loved his property and enjoyed riding his tractor around his land. Steve had a contagious laugh that we will always miss. He enjoyed his friends from the Senior Center in Wolcott and the bus trips to different places that Don always made special. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Gregory M. Wabuda of Wolcott; a grandson, Alex J. Wabuda, of Wolcott; and his granddaughter, Sydney J. Wabuda of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his son, Steven P. Wabuda in 2007. Friends may visit on Friday, July 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
