Waterbury- Mr. Roland J. Parizo, 86, passed away while surrounded and comforted by his family on Sunday morning, February 9, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (LeBlanc) Parizo.
Mr. Parizo was born September 8, 1927 in Essex Junction, Vermont, son of the late Arthur J. Parizo and Marion (Poirier) Parizo Guay. Raised in Waterbury, he was a graduate of St. Annes Grammar School and Leavenworth High School, class of 1946. He had served honorably in the U.S. Army, retired from New Departure in Bristol after over forty years working as a tool maker and was a member of the U.A.W. He was an avid camper and was a member of the Good Sam Club. Roland and his late wife Barbara had traveled throughout the United States.
He is survived by one son, Ronald Parizo and his wife Lisette of Tewksbury, MA; four daughters, Janice Stone and her husband Dennis of Henderson, NV, Dianna Parizo and her partner Robert Elsinger of Waterbury, Cheryl Santos and her husband Manuel of Wolcott and Marylouise Gervase and her husband Joseph of Wolcott; eight grandchildren, Valerie, Jennifer, Stephen, Jamie, Ron, Madison, Cameron and Gianna; four great-grandchildren, Naytia, Mya, Ellisandra and Izzabelle and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-father, Peter Guay.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning, February 12, at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, from 9:30 A.M. until time to leave for mass at 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 A.M. at the Shrine of St. Anne in Waterbury. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
