Wolcott - Mr. Roger G. Martin, 73, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit in St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Bernadette (Beaulieu) Martin. Roger was born on May 15, 1941 in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada, son of the late Ernest and Albina (Therrien) Martin. Roger worked for the CT Carpenters Local 24 for over 50 years until his retirement and was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott. Besides his wife, Roger is survived by his son, Ryan Martin; five brothers, Jean-Marie Martin, Patrick Martin and his wife Yvette, Ronald Martin and his wife Edwina, Reginald Martin and his wife Claudette, and Guy Martin and his wife Therese; four sisters, Hilda Martin, Gertrude Sites and her husband Robert, Stella Martin, and Marguerite Hilton and her husband Kent; two grandsons, Jayde and Nash Martin; in-laws, James and Rina Beaulieu Martin, Norman and Gaetane Poudrier, Jocelyn and Arlene Morin, Gaetan and Kathy Mulcahy, Joseph and Claudette Messineo, Murielle Beaulieu, Richard and Clair Boucher, Marcel and Amy Fontaine, and Nancy Green and her fianc Paul Boutin; and his best friend for over 50 years, Jean-Claude Nolin. He was predeceased by a son, Mark Martin; a sister, Cecile Martin; and a brother-in-law, Gerard Beaulieu. The family would like to thank the staff at the Harold Leever Cancer Center, Dr. Joseph Bowens office and the nurses and staff at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
