Wolcott - Mr. Richard N. Clukey, Sr., 84, passed away on Friday, September 23, at his home. He was the husband of Mary E. (Wiley) Clukey. Mr. Clukey was born April 3, 1932 in Dexter, Maine, son of the late Arthur and Nellie Clukey. Raised in Dexter, he had attended local schools and was a graduate of Dexter High School where he excelled at varsity baseball. He had served honorably in the United States Army; his most significant detail was serving in the White House detachment. In the early 1960s he relocated to Terryville and then moved to Wolcott in 2004. He had been employed at the Eagle Lock Company and retired from New England Aircraft Products in Farmington in 1986. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a 21 year heart transplant survivor. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Richard N. Clukey, Jr and his wife Candice of Torrington, Daniel A. Clukey and David A. Clukey, both of Bristol; two daughters, Debra J. Blackwell and her husband Richard of Thomaston and Teresa Lynn Burdick and her husband Richard of Wolcott; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until time of service. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Richards name to the Heart Vascular Institute at the Hartford Hospital 80 Seymour Street Hartford, CT 06102.
