Michael Wolfe, 64, of Forest Park, Ga. Passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 after battling a brief illness.
Michael was born Miloslav Wolf in Potucky, Czechoslovakia to Margareta Fisher Jezkova and the late Miloslav Wolf on May 3, 1949. He was the founder of 7M Group, Inc. which is the Wolfe familys business.
Michael came to the U.S. in 1969, was taken in and lived with the Pelosi family of Waterbury, Ct. He worked with Joseph Pelosi Sr. at Farrell Foundries for a few years. Mike became a U.S. citizen in May of 1973. Mike served in the Army in Vietnam and finished out his duty in Alaska. Mike returned to Waterbury for a while, but being a man of adventure he returned to Alaska where he worked on the pipeline for several years. He also worked on fishing boats catching King Crabs. Mike hunted and trapped for fur and worked in many logging camps on the west coast up until Mt. St. Helens errupted, a mountain he was logging on.
Mike then had many adventures throughout the U.S. Always a man of many means and willing to work, he heard that Atlanta was growing and expanding. So in the early 80s, he found his way to Georgia where he met Elizabeth and her son Matthew.
Mike would hang signs on telephone poles and everywhere else he could, advertising his services. No job too big or small, he would take them all. As his family grew, so did his business. By 1994, his family had grown to 7 kids, 6 boys and 1 girl. All born with the first letter of their names beginning with the letter M, which is why the company he founded is called the 7M Group.
Mike would sometimes pick up day laborers when he needed extra help. In 1999, he picked up Salvador Garcia, a Mexican with many talents and work ethics, which impressed Mike so much he took Salvador under his wings and treated him as one of his own sons.
Soon, Mikes reputation for excellence in detail and craftsmanship, in residential and commercial buildings, began to spread amongst the high rise buildings in downtown Atlanta. Some of the most notable ones that he worked on were the Candler Bldg., Pinnacle Bldg., and of course, the Concourse Complex. Mike also was the general contractor at Perimeter Ridge, a 19 building complex in Sandy Springs where his shop is located.
Mike truly was a lover of life who was willing to give everyone a helping hand and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Michael was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away.
Mike is survived by his wife Elizabeth after 29 loving years. He also leaves behind 6 sons, Matthew, Michael, Mark, Martin, Milo and Milan and one daughter Melissa. He also left behind 4 granddaughters and two grandsons, his mother, Margareta Fisher Jezkova, two brothers, Jan and Martin Wolf, All of whom reside in the Czech Republic.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations payable to Milan Wolfe, 544 Conley Rd. Forest Park, Ga. 30297 to help with his college fund which was one of Mikes greatest wishes.
The family is holding a gathering at Mikes home on Tuesday, May 28th at 12 pm to celebrate his life. People are more than welcome to come throughout the day end evening.
