Wolcott- Mr. Jon B. Tynan, 65, died Thursday evening, August 28, at the Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Jill K. (Maddocks) Tynan.
Jon was born September 20, 1948 in Waterbury, son of Mary "Mae" (Walsh) Tynan of Wolcott and the late Dr. James G. Tynan, Sr. Raised in Wolcott he attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, class of 1966. He received his BA Degree in History from Niagara University. He worked for many years in construction and hospitality and most recently was self-employed, operating Tynan Painting and Wallpaper.
In addition to his wife and mother Jon is survived by one son, Michael J. Tynan of NYC; one daughter, Kerry Tynan Mertz and her husband Matthew of Easton; one sister, Marita Calabro of Wolcott; six brothers, James G. Tynan, Jr of Thomaston, Richard C. Tynan of Farmington, William F. Tynan of Wolcott, Gerald M. Tynan of Waterbury, Brian Tynan of Wolcott and Edward "Ned" Tynan of Waterbury and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Tynan.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 4, from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott.
