TERRYVILLE - John Philip Hutnik Sr, of Eastview Rd. passed unexpectedly April, 7 2011 with his son by his side. John was born in Bridgeport, CT March 6, 1953. He was the son of the late Henry and Beatrice (Clouatre) Hutnik. John was a graduate of Bullard Havens Technical School. He was retired from Murphy Outdoor Advertising and was also employed by Cheshire Academy. He is survived by his son John P. Hutnik, Jr. and his wife Rachel of Terryville, his daughter, Michele (Hutnik) Miles of Cheshire, a sister, Susan (Hutnik) Wailionis of Terryville, a brother, Henry Hutnik (Pat) of Pawcatuck, CT. He is also survived by the sunshine of his life, his granddaughter, little Maddy Rose Hutnik, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Stephen Hutnik. He enjoyed going on trips to the Casino with his sister Susan. John was an avid Yankees and St. Louis Rams fan. He loved his Friday night poker games with his son and friends. John enjoyed his swimming sessions at the Naugatuck YMCA and his annual camping trips with his nephew Tommy Penzerro. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodtick Memorial in Wolcott, CT on Monday, April 11, at 6:00 p.m. Calling hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
