Waterbury - Mr. James P. Venditti, Sr, 83, passed away on Friday, November 25, at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. James (Jim) was born July 2, 1933 in Waterbury, son of the late James J. and Rose B. (Garafolo) Venditti. He was raised in Waterbury and attended local schools. He had served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War and was a disabled veteran. He retired from Airpax in Cheshire in 1998. A longtime member of the Waterbury Lodge B.P.O. Elks # 265, he was a member of the bowling league and played in both the setback and cribbage leagues. He is survived by three sons, James P. Venditti, Jr of Waterbury, John P. Venditti and his wife Jeannie of Wolcott and Joe P. Venditti and his longtime girlfriend Susan Pendziwater of Waterbury; three daughters, Rosemary Callahan and her husband Gene of Waterbury, Beth Ann Caouette and her husband John of Waterbury and Karen L. Grendzinski of Oakville; his longtime girlfriend, Nancy Wurzinger and her children, Dave Wurzinger, Terri Blacker, Lori Gmuer and their families; one brother, John J. Venditti of TX; two sisters, Mary Ann Venditti-Griffin of Wolcott and Patricia R. Venditti of OH; ten grandchildren, Katherine, Patrick, Kelsey, Sarah, Justin, Kimberly, John, Katie, Carly and Jacob; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Ryan, and Brooke; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Gene F. Venditti, his son-in-law, John Grendzinski and twin sisters, Sandra Larson and Diane Boucher. He also leaves an ex-wife Virginia A. Venditti. Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 30, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Burial will be private.
