Bristol James "J.J." DiVito, 93, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Normalee (Walters) DiVito. J.J. was born on July 15, 1924 in Waterbury. He served his country proudly in the Army Air Force during WWII. In 1968, J.J. opened Jet Tool, in Plainville, which recently moved to Southington, and was also the owner of J.J. Industries. He served as an Elder for the Waterbury Church of Christ for about 30 years. J.J. is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Sanzone, and her husband, Ronald, of Bristol; his grandchildren, James Sanzone, of Wolcott; Todd Sanzone, of Bristol; Jeremy Sanzone, of Bristol; Tiffany Sanzone, of Bristol; and Christy Sanzone, of Wolcott; and his 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Normalee DiVito. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 13, at 10 a.m. Those planning to attend may arrive at 9:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott.
