Waterbury ~ James Charette, 71, of Waterbury passed away on January 26, 2013 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband to Lois "Jean" (Raymond) Charette for 39 years.
James was born April 18, 1941 in Fort Kent, Maine, son of the late Lezime and Edwidge (Rossignol) Charette. He worked for many years in heat treating at Anchor Fastener, most recently known as Lindberg Heat Treat. Jimmy was a graduate from St. Anne's Grammar School and attended Leavenworth High School. He fought a courageous battle with Leukemia without complaint or self-pity. Jimmy was a good man who worked hard and loved his family deeply, but a special place in his heart was reserved for his beloved Savannah. Besides spending time with his family, he loved getting together with friends
and telling stories of the 'old days'. For many years, he enjoyed his morning coffee
and reading his newspaper at the Tower Grill.
Besides his wife Jean, he is survived by a son Robert "Bobby" and his wife Melissa of Waterbury, his granddaughter Savannah, a sister, Marie "Arlene" Pelletier and her husband Armand of Southington, a cousin, who was dear to his heart, Bob Dixon and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers Roland and Robert as well as a nephew Tim Charette.
Friends and family are asked to gather on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 9:30 AM for a service at 10:00 AM at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 31 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
