Prospect - Ivan P. Daigle of 146 Waterbury Rd., Prospect, died after a brief illness. His father, mother and older sister have predeceased him, leaving his sister Elaine Cioffi and her family.
Ivan was a decorated Vietnam Veteran whose special training in mechanics qualified him to work on helicopters. After returning home he worked in motorcycle mechanics and carpentry. His greatest interest was his greatest talent, building and painting motorcycles and NASCAR. His reputation for excellent workmanship brought him many friends over the years. He was always willing to help a friend and will be remembered for his selfless support of his friends.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at The State of Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Family and friends may call on Friday evening, August 8, from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
In lieu of flowers, funeral donations are asked to be made in Ivans name to The VFW Mens Auxiliary Post 8075, 20 Summit Rd., Prospect CT 06712.
