Obituary

WOLCOTT- Frank M. Persico, 87, of Wolcott, formerly of Florida, passed away on February 26, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital while surrounded by his family. He was the widow of "Mitzi" Matilda (Aubin) Persico. Frank was born May 7, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Salvatore and Elena (Cappiello) Persico. He was a WWII veteran and proudly served in the third Army in Normandy under General Patton. Frank was a member of the VFW Post 1979 and a member of the American Legion. He worked for many years at Uniroyal as a supervisor before retiring. He and Mitzi moved to Deland, Florida living there for about twenty years before returning to Wolcott. Frank was a parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Church in Wolcott. He loved to travel, spending time with his family, adoring his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent time watching war movies and was interested in history. He was a fan of Frank Sinatra and The Rat Pack. Frank was a very affectionate person that always hugged and also would say "Im glad you met me!" to bring a laugh and smile. He will also be remembered for his love of sweets and cookies. Frank is survived by his children, Lena Geraci of Wolcott, Michael Persico and his wife Audrey of VA, Richard Persico of New Haven, a sister, Justina Guglielmetti of Florida, a brother Louis Persico of Florida, grandchildren, Tara and Dina Persico of VA, Jenna Shiftlett of VA, Brian Geraci and his wife Jennifer of MD, James Geraci and his wife Marina of Naugatuck, Christopher Persico of Avon, Heather Blaha and her husband Paul of Portland, Nicole Cloutier and her husband Michael of Portland, Matthew Persico of PA, Danielle Siwek of PA, his great grandchildren, Andrew and Henry Geraci, Cameron Persico and Chloe Cloutier and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Frank J. Persico. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 2, at 10:00 at St Maria Goretti Church. Friends and family are asked to gather at 9 AM at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
