WOLCOTT ~ Francis A. Torrice, 77, passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday July 21, 2011. He was the husband of Helena (Montana) Torrice.
He was born August 12, 1933 in Waterbury, son of the late Joseph and Patty (Uva) Torrice. Francis served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Lombard Bros. where he had worked as a truck driver for many years. Fran had found enjoyment while gardening, doing yard work and tinkering. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready for a good laugh.
Besides his wife, Helena "Honey", he is survived by a sister, Florence (Torrice) Lombardi of Watertown, a daughter Paulette (Torrice) and her husband, Raul Otano of Southington, a son, Tony and his wife Debbie Torrice of Naugatuck, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, his in-laws, Theresa Montana of Naugatuck and Michael and Sandy Montana of Thomaston as well as his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Louis Dadamo and a sister Antoinette (Dadamo) Rose.
The Torrice family would like to extend their gratitude to the VITAS staff at St. Marys Hospital and The Harold Lever Cancer Center, staff of Dr. Changs office, for their attentiveness and loving care they had shown.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30 am until the time of the service.
