Wolcott Erich O. Schmeer, 80, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. He was the husband of Suzanne (Smith) Schmeer for 54 years. Erich was born in Waterbury on February 11, 1939, son of Erich and Helen (Szeszinski) Schmeer. He worked as a draftsman for various companies, retiring from Jarvis Airfoil. He was active in local photography, as well as the photo club and stamp club. He also enjoyed model cars and attending car shows with his cherished grandson, Alex. Erich will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Suzanne Schmeer; his son, Erich M. Schmeer, of Wolcott; his daughters, Ellen M. Schmeer, of Wolcott; and Diane E. Michaud, of Cheshire; his brothers, Herbert Schmeer, and his wife, Patricia; and Alfred Schmeer; and his grandson, Alex Michaud. He was predeceased by his son in law, John Michaud. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott.
