Waterbury - Mr. Alva Peter "Pop" Mailhot, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Paradigm Health Care Center of Prospect. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Henrietta (Cote) Mailhot.
Alva was born on May 4, 1921 in Dixville, Quebec, Canada, son of the late Pierre and Grace (Ware) Mailhot. He served honorably in the Canadian Army during WWII. Alva moved to Waterbury in 1957 where he was a master electrician at the Farrell Foundry Company, later retiring after 35 years of service. After his retirement he worked part time for Lighting Services INC in Waterbury. He loved gardening and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife of 60 years, Alva is survived by his son, Robert Mailhot; a daughter, Linda Mailhot; two grandsons, Carl Summa and Donald Summa Jr.; and two great-granddaughters, Audrey Rose Summa and Brinley Grace Summa. He was predeceased by a sister, Pauline (Mailhot) St. John.
Alva's family would like to thank Donna Grillo and her family for going out of their way to spend time with Alva and Henrietta.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
