Oakville - Allan Roger Lacombe, 57, of Oakville passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at home with his loving wife Michelle (Demske) Lacombe by his side.
Allan was born on October 11, 1957 in Waterbury, son of Roger and Rita (Hamel) Lacombe, of North Port, Florida. He attended local schools including St. Annes Grammar School, and was a graduate of Kennedy High School class of 1975. Allan was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan and will be remembered for his love of family, animals, music, fine wine, and cooking. Allan was a 29 year veteran of the United States Postal Service. He served CT Merged Branch 20 as a Steward & was Waterburys Chief Steward for approximately 10 years. He served one term as Assistant Secretary Treasurer of the branch. He served the Connecticut State Association of Letter Carriers for 14 years and rose to the State Presidency. Allan retired from the Postal Service for medical reasons. He was Charismatic, Absolutely gentle, always neat and in uniform. He was very proud of his job and well-loved & respected by his peers. Allan was also an organ donor which will help others in need for years to come.
Besides his loving wife and caretaker, Michelle, and his parents, Allan is survived by his daughter, Erica Lynn Lacombe, of Los Angeles, California; two step children, Nicholas and Taylor Medina; two brothers, David Lacombe and his wife Merrily, of Plantsville, and Ken Lacombe and his wife Theresa, of Southington; a sister, Lisa (Lacombe) Dumond and her husband Tom, of Prospect; his in-laws, Robert and Josephine Demske, of Oakville, with whom Allan and Michelle made their home; his brother-in-law, Michael Demske and his wife Cheryl of Jacksonville, FL and his cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and coworkers.
He was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Mark Lacombe.
Family and friends may call on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Shrine of St. Anne in Waterbury. Those wishing to honor Allan in the funeral procession may meet at the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. on Saturday morning. Burial will be held privately.
