Monica (Madore) DiLeo, 70, of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on February 11, 2026, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.Born in Waterbury on January 14, 1956, Monica was a lifelong member of the community she loved. She faced her illness with strength and grace and passed surrounded by the love of her husband of 31 years, Angelo DiLeo, and her best friend of more than 50 years, Dora Kashiwabara of Pepperell, Massachusetts.Monica was predeceased by her parents, Armand and Bertha (Dumond) Madore of Wolcott, and her brother, Brian Madore of Thomaston.She is survived by her devoted husband, Angelo; her sister Linda and her husband Frank Martin of Winter Haven, Florida; her brother Bob and his wife Kim Madore of Odenton, Maryland; and her brother Ron and his wife Robin Madore of Wolcott, Connecticut. She also leaves behind her cherished niece, Melissa and her husband Andre Roy of Barkhamsted, Connecticut; her nephew Steven and his wife Cayce Martin of Jacksonville, Florida; and her niece Catherine and her husband David Wilson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Monica was also blessed with many great nieces and great nephews, and cousins as well as loving aunts and uncles who will miss her dearly.Monica worked as an associate at TJ Maxx for over 20 years, where she formed lasting friendships and truly valued her work family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially going to see her cousin James Pelletier perform with the Bristol Old Time Fiddlers. She was known for her warmth, loyalty, and wonderful sense of humor.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the request of the family.In lieu of flowers, the family has created a GoFundMe to assist in covering medical expenses
