With broken hearts we announce the passing of Michael Salvatore Montana Sr., 79, beloved husband of Sandra (Evon) Montana for the last 56 years, at Hartford Hospital.

Michael was born in Waterbury on August 2, 1946, son of the late Bertha (Sobocinski) Montana. He was a professional painter retiring after over 30 years from Commercial Painting in Southington. Michael and Sandy resided in Thomaston for over 50 years where they raised their son Michael S. Montana Jr. He also leaves Michael’s wife Karen Montana, his favorite granddaughter Kendall Montana and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Theresa Montana and Helena Torrice.

Michael deeply loved his family, especially playing cards with his granddaughter Kendall. He also enjoyed western movies, the Honeymooners, cooking, and old cars including his ’55 Chevy Bel Air.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Michael’s life on Friday June 26th at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Calling hours begin at 10 AM with a Funeral Service at 11AM. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery.
