WOLCOTT ~ Maurice "Moe" Cossette, Sr., 75, of Wolcott passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Marlene (Copeland) Cossette. Moe was born July 22, 1937 in Waterbury, son of the late Prosper and Florence (Deschenes) Cossette. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and received the Navy Occupation Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Master Carpenter by trade and was the primary owner of Arrowhead Properties. He served on the Committee for the Wolcott High School addition. Moe was a member of the Republican Party and served as a former councilman for the 3rd district. He was a member of the V.F.W, Post 1979, a former member of the Exchange Club of Wolcott and an active member of the 'Arm Pit Gang' (they know who they are). Besides his wife, Marlene of 57 years, he leaves his son, Maurice Cossette, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of Panama City, FL, his daughters, Susan Johnson and her husband, Gary of Wolcott, and Sandra Cossette of Manchester, his brother, Paul Cossette and his wife, Janice of Wolcott, his sisters, Germaine Bouchard of Panama City, FL and Lorraine Cauley and her husband, Albert of Satellite Beach, FL, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, Many relatives and close friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 10 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, followed by burial with military honors at Edgewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 am until the time of the service.
