MARY RUEGG WOLCOTT ~ Mary (Giattino) Ruegg, 71, of Wolcott passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Friday, February 27th. She was the wife of Robert Ruegg. Mrs. Ruegg was born October 28, 1937 in Waterbury, daughter of Mary Giattino and the late Leo Giattino. She retired from General Datacom after 15 years of service. In 2007 she began employment as a lunch aide for Wakelee School and continued working until she became ill. She enjoyed reading, cards, bingos and trips to the casinos. She loved the Rhode Island beaches. In her younger years, she was involved with ceramics, bowling and horse racing. The family remembers her love of music and her spontaneous singing at the spur of the moment to make them laugh. Besides her husband of 47 years, she leaves her mother of Waterbury, her sons, Robert, Steven and Mark Ruegg, all of Wolcott, her daughters, Sherry Mancini of Wolcott and Valerie Lorusso of Watertown, and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.
