WOLCOTT ~ Mary (DeAngelis) Jacques, 74, of Wolcott passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Roger J. Jacques. Mary was born November 23, 1936 in Braintree, MA, daughter of the late Paul and Rose (Avalone) DeAngelis. She retired from UConn Medical Center after 20 years of service and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. Mary was a member of the Waterbury Womens Club where she was instrumental in making packages for our servicemen in Afghanistan. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and hats for newborn infants and those people confined to a wheel chair. Mary had a love for crossword puzzles, but her favorite time was baking cookies with her grandchildren. Besides her husband, Roger of 46 years, she leaves her son, Roger W. Jacques, his wife, Judy and their children, David and Megan of Belmont, CA; her daughter Marcia Lombardi, her husband, Tony, and their children, Rose, Jacob and Kaitlyn of Bristol; her sister, Julia Kocsis of Paso Robles, CA, her aunt, Lillian Chevalier, her uncle, Carl Avalone and his wife Mitch and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Roger and his family would like to express their gratitude to the Bristol Home Hospice staff and all who helped with Marys care for their support and caring during her illness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 3 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church, 252 Bound line Rd., Wolcott followed by a reception in the church hall. Burial will be private.
