WATERBURY ~ Mary C. (Raimondo) Brown-Diorio, 91, of Cheshire passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Cheshire House. She became the widower to Michael Diorio and then Joseph Brown. Mary was born May 2, 1920 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Sebastiano and Anna (Pizzo) Raimondo. She attended local schools in Waterbury. For several years, she had been employed at Ball and Socket in Cheshire and later retired from Stanley Manufacturing in Waterbury as a machine operator. After her first husband Michael passed, she had met Joe Brown and moved to Arizona for over twenty years before she returned home to live with her daughter Carol Indino in Cheshire. Mary loved to cook the old fashioned way that most Italians do, everything was homemade, from scratch and enjoyed cooking the most. She also gardened and canned what they harvested. Somehow she made the time to sew and iron. In her later years Mary found comfort in visiting the Senior Center in Cheshire and spent much time there with friends. She is greatly missed by her daughter, Carol and her husband Joe Indino of Cheshire, a son, David Diorio formerly of Cheshire, a brother Tony Raimondo of California, five grandchildren, David Indino and his fianc Danielle Green of Cheshire, Talla of Wolcott, David of Georgia, Darrin of Florida, James and David of Waterbury, and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Frank D. Raimondo and a sister Roni Christopher. Calling hours will be held on Thurday from 9:30 to 11 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A funeral service will be held at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
