Martin J. Fahy Sr., of Wolcott, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at his home in Bradenton, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, quiet devotion, humor, and deep love for his family.
At the time of his passing on March 31, 2026, Martin left behind his loving wife, Claudia (Bossé) Fahy; his devoted children, Martin J. Fahy Jr. and Erica Fahy and her fiancé Bryan Marco , both of Wolcott; his beloved sister, Eileen Fahy ; and his three grandsons, Luke Flanagan, Liam Flanagan, and Landon Flanagan, all of Wolcott, who were a constant source of joy, laughter, and immeasurable pride.
Martin was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Kimberly Fahy; his parents, John Fahy and Mary Whelan Fahy, both of Waterbury; and his cherished sister, Patricia Fahy, a beloved elementary school teacher whose warmth and dedication touched so many lives.
Martin proudly served in the Army Reserves, carrying with him throughout life the discipline, loyalty, and sense of duty that defined the man he was. He was also an honorary member of The Knights of Columbus, third degree.
He was the Vice President and co-owner of the family business, M.J. Fahy and Sons, where he dedicated countless hours and years of his life until retiring ten years ago. He poured not only his time but much of his health into the work, always taking pride in doing the job right and making sure the men who worked alongside him were cared for. He believed in showing up every day, working hard for what mattered, and doing right by others. Through his sacrifices, he gave his family a comfortable life and taught his children the enduring value of dedication, responsibility, and pride in one’s work.
Though naturally quiet and private, Martin had a dry wit and a kindness that showed itself in the steady, meaningful ways he cared for those around him. He loved a good Western on a Sunday afternoon, was an avid golf fan and player for as long as his health allowed and was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, the New York Giants, and UConn basketball. He was also a fiercely competitive Jeopardy! player from the comfort of his living room, rarely missing an opportunity to test his knowledge and enjoy the challenge.
Nothing made Martin happier than his family. He especially loved hearing about the funny stories, adventures, and shenanigans of his grandsons. Their sports, milestones, and everyday moments filled him with pride, and even when his health made it difficult to attend games, he asked about them every day, smiling and laughing at every update.
In the later years of his life, Martin deeply treasured time spent with those he loved most. He enjoyed taking the family out to dinner, gathering everyone together, and sharing meals on the back deck — the kind of ordinary moments that became treasured memories. He was a deeply respected man who always put family first, and his quiet strength, humor, and steady presence will be profoundly missed. And when he smiled, his Irish eyes were smiling. He was worthy of every word written, and he will be missed beyond what words can ever fully hold.
