Marilyn Descoteaux Retired teacher St. Thomas School in Southington SOUTHINGTON- Marilyn (Deschenes) Descoteaux, 78, of Southington died peacefully on Saturday October 21st at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. Born in Waterbury on October 10, 1945, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Gerard and Colleen (DeVoe) Deschenes. Marilyn graduated from St. Anne Grammar School, Wolcott High School, Eastern CT State University and earned her Masters degree at Western CT State University. She was a 1st Grade Teacher at St. Thomas School in Southington for over 25 years. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church where she was a eucharistic minister. Left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are her son Don Descoteaux Jr. her daughter Michelle Descoteaux, her brother Jerry Deschenes, he former husband and still close friend Don Descoteaux Sr., four grandchildren Zak Black, Christopher, Tayden and Lincoln Descoteaux, and her great-grandson Nolan Black and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her sister-in-law Judy Deschenes and niece Callie Huang. Marilyns family would like to thank the Drs. And staff at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital and Accent Care Hospice for truly compassionate and professional care. Friends and family are invited to a funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 25th at 11 AM at St. Leo The Great Church 13 Bentwood Dr. in Waterbury.
