Obituary

Wolcott, CT – Mrs. Marilyn Barbieri, beloved wife of the late Alfred Barbieri, passed away on November 16, 2025, at age 81 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was a woman whose quiet strength, gentle spirit, and deep devotion to her loved ones shaped every chapter of her life.

Marilyn was born on November 14, 1944, daughter of the late Arthur and Barbara (Cooper) Scofield. She was raised in Wolcott and was a member of the first graduating class of Wolcott High School. Marilyn worked for many years at Scott Screw Machine, KIP Inc. and later for the Wolcott Board of Education, where she built strong bonds and lasting friendships.

Family was Marilyn's greatest joy. She was kind, gentle, caring, and generous beyond measure. She had a quiet spark and a sweetness that made everyone around her feel at ease. She also found simple comfort in life's little rituals—especially her morning coffee and the peaceful moments she enjoyed with her cigarettes, A routine that became uniquely hers.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Lisa Emons and husband Christopher Emons, and her cherished grandchildren Mark Emons and his wife Maria, and Christina Emons. She also leaves behind her niece and nephew, Karen Gaudiosi and George Gaudiosi, and her brother-in-law George Gaudiosi. In addition to her husband and parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her children Maryann and Mark, her sister Donna Gaudiosi, and her nephew Michael Gaudiosi.

Though her passing leaves a deep ache, those who loved her take comfort in knowing she is reunited with the family she missed so deeply. Her legacy of love, gentleness, and unwavering devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
