Waterbury Marie Carline Masiak, 84, of Waterbury, passed away on April 25, 2022, at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. Carline was born on February 27, 1938, in Van Buren, Maine, daughter of the late Emil and Edith (LeBel) Chabre. Carline was a longtime member of the Franco-American Club; loved home doctorating; and was a passionate volunteer and supporter of the Special Olympics. Carline was predeceased by her beloved son, Justin Curtis. She has three surviving children; Sandra Genua, of Waterbury and her husband Joe, Steven Staple of New Hampshire, and Deborah Pelletier of Oakville. She was one of 22 children and the last of the daughters. She is survived by three brothers, Gilman Chabre of Massachusetts, Herman Chabre of Utah, and Dicky Chabre of Florida; four grandchildren, Kelly, Stacey, Joey, and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren, Dakota and Jonathan; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and friends. Calling hours are Saturday May 7, 2022, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road., Wolcott. Burial will be held privately.
