Waterbury- Marie T. (DuBois) Charette, 87, of Waterbury, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at her home. She became the beloved widow of Patrick E. Charette in 2009, after 67 years of marriage.
Marie was born November 12th, 1923 in Soldier Pond, Maine, daughter of the late Edward and Roseanna (Daigle) DuBois. She was an artisian porcelain doll maker and designed and sewed their appropriate clothing. In earlier years Marie enjoyed her annual two week vacation in Maine to fish as she loved the quiet. When her children were young, she would design and make their clothing and drapes for her home. Marie became the owner of Holiday Beauty Salon and was self employed as a hairdresser before retiring. Marie loved and lived to care for her daughter Ruth.
She leaves her two sons, James and Rosemarie Charette of Harwinton, Larry and Susan of Wolcott, two daughters, Betty Favreau of Florida, J. Ruth Napoli of Waterbury, a sister, Theresa Grenier of Watertown, a brother Patrick DuBois of New York, eight grandchildren, Michelle Napoli-Lipsky, Noel Hennequin, Marlaina Napoli-Bosse, Danielle, Jillian, and Jessica Charette, Paul and Connor Charette, seven great grandchildren, Kody and Blake Hennequin, Alexander and Katelyn Lipsky, Tom Bosse Jr., Giovanna Charette and Arianna Bosse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 9:00am at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling Hours will be held Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Memorial contributions may be made, in her memory, to: St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
