WATERBURY ~ Marcel "Moe" Delage, 70, formerly of Chase Ave. passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family, on Tuesday January 24,2012. He was a loving and devoted husband to Dorothy "Dottie" Delage for the last 38 years.
Moe was born November 19, 1941 in Waterbury, son of the late Alphirie and Jeannette (Boucher) Delage. He attended Leavenworth High School and worked for many years as Automotive Wholesale Parts Representative for ACME Auto, retiring in 1998. He was an automotive enthusiast. He enjoyed cruising his "69" Camaro to classic car shows. He was involved in drag racing for several years, and was a member of The Dover Drag Strip Hall of Fame. Moe liked bowling, playing cards, taking trips to the casino, and football. He is remembered as a funny, outgoing man who loved spending time with family. He was a loving father, grandfather and a great friend to many.
Besides his wife Dorothy, he leaves a son, Joe Delage of Waterbury, a daughter, Michelle Delage and her fiance Joel Gonzalez of Waterbury, grandchildren, Ashley Delevieleuse, Nicholas Overton, Leilani and Liana Gonzalez all of Waterbury, a brother, Robert and his wife Lucille Delage of Wolcott, a sister in law, Marie Delage, his God-daughter Diane Uccello and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step-daughter Linda Overton and his siblings, Juliette Delage Raymond Delage, Doris Miclette, Shirley Juliano and Roger Delage.
Friends are asked to gather on Monday at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, at 10:00 am for a procession to the Shrine of St. Anne for a Mass at 11am. Calling hours will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 2 to 6 pm. Burial will be private. The family thanks the staff at, Village Green of Waterbury, for their help and support.
