LUZ GONZALEZ COLON WATERBURY ~ Luz Gonzalez Colon, 61, of Waterbury passed away on Saturday, October 24th surrounded by her family at her daughters home. She was the wife of Julio Colon. Luz was born August 27, 1948 in Moca, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Julio and Maria (Beltran) Gonzalez. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, crabbing and attending flea markets, tag sales and trips to the casinos. Luz was a loving mother to her family and friends. Besides her husband, Julio of Waterbury, she leaves her sons, Adalberto Rivera and his wife Janette of Meriden, Ramon Rivera and his wife Marilyn Torres of Belleville, NJ, her daughter, Ivette Rivera and her husband Robert Lopez of Waterbury, her sisters, Alma Rivera of Newark, NJ, Isaura Gonzalez of Naugatuck, Aida Gonzalez and Mayda Alejandro of Waterbury, Carmela Soler of P.R., and Adelaida Manguel of FL, her brother, Ramon Gonzalez of Newark, NJ, and her grandchildren, Raymond, Antonio, Kelvin, Ana, and Christiana. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Woodtick Memorial on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held during the calling hours on Tuesday with Pastor Raul Pinto, Jr. officiating.
