Waterbury - Luz (Candal) Cintron, 65, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 15, 2014 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. She was the wife of Mr. Theodore S. Kuroski III.
Luz was born on November 15, 1948 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, daughter of Miguel and Carmen (Pagan) Candal. Luz served honorable in the Army National Guard for four years and most recently worked as a CNA in local convalescent homes for a number of years.
Besides her husband, Luz is survived by her son, Joseph Cintron and his wife Kelly of Waterbury; four sisters, Carmen M. Troche, Iris Candal-Ryan, Norma Candal, and Carmen Candal all of New York; a brother, Michael Candal of Florida; a half-brother, Jessie Candal of New York; and four grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Jocelyn, Jason, and Savannah Cintron.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thurs., June 19, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W. Main St., Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wed., June 18, from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
