LUZ M. ACEVEDO Waterbury: Luz Maria Acevedo, age 68, of Union St., died Wednesday, November 12th at her daughters home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Vicente Acevedo. Mrs. Acevedo was born September 21, 1940 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of the late Ramon and Francisca (Ruiz) Custodio. She was a member of Sacred Heart-Sacrado Corazon Church. She enjoyed gardening and loved to cook. She is survived by three sons Pedro and David Acevedo, both of Waterbury and Miguel Acevedo of Florida, four daughters, Maribel Acevedo-Muniz, Monserrate Acevedo and Velmary Vargas all of Waterbury and Nereida Acevedo of Florida, two sisters, three brothers, twenty one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Jose L. Acevedo and a daughter Marylin Acevedo. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 15th at 10:00am from the Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott to Sacred Heart - Sacrado Corazon Church for a mass at 10:30am. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in Luz Marias memory.
