Obituary

Myrtle Beach, SC- Lucie Pelletier Hanson, 62, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. She was born in Waterbury, on July 9, 1957 to Laurier Pelletier and the late Eglantine (Beaulieu) Pelletier. Lucie is survived by her father, Laurier Pelletier, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Wolcott; her only son, little buddy and the light of her life, Richard Ricky Hanson, Jr. and his wife, Amanda, of Wolcott; her brother Laurier Pelletier, and his girlfriend, Bernise Nadeau, of Wolcott; her nephew, Kevin Pelletier, his wife, Beth, and their two children, Ashley and James, of Bel Air, Maryland; and her niece who viewed Lucie as a mother figure, Christine Pelletier, her boyfriend, Anthony and their two children, Max and Mila, of Huntington Beach, CA. Lucie was predeceased by her mother, Eglantine; and her brother, David, with whom she shared a birthday several years apart. She was also predeceased by her ex-husband, Rickys father, Richard Hanson, Sr. Lucie worked for many years in banking, where she made many lifelong friends. She was also able to enjoy a few years of retirement. For anyone who knew Lucie, they knew she always spoke her mind. She wasnt afraid to say exactly what she was thinking. Everyone also knew that her son my Ricky came before anything else. They went on many adventures together and have so many memories to cherish. Being a mother to Ricky was the greatest joy in her life. She loved her family more than anything and even though miles apart, she brought them all together as often as possible. Another one of Lucies great loves was the ocean. She was lucky enough to live her dream to move to Myrtle Beach where she could see the ocean right from her window. She spent her days walking the beach, picking up shells and shark teeth. This was her definition of paradise. She spent her last summer in Wolcott with her family, helping run Woodtick Recreation in honor of her brother, David Pelletier. The summer was busy, but also filled with a lot of love and family. And in Lucies final days, she was able to spend time with her friends that she had made family. She laughed until she cried. Lucie was more full of life than most people and the reflections of her life show it. She will be greatly missed by friends and family, but her and her infectious smile will never be forgotten. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott.
