Obituary

PLANTSVILLE ~ Mrs. Lorraine B. (Robillard) Smith, 90, formerly of Wolcott and Barefoot Bay, FL passed away peacefully on December 19, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 29, 1922 in Fall River, MA to the late Clovis and Eva (Allard) Robillard. Lorraine was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family and was a loving wife of 68 years to her husband and soul mate, Rene, who predeceased her in August, 2011. Lorraine retired from the former G. Fox Co. in Waterbury, and relocated to Florida, where she and her husband enjoyed membership in many clubs, including a lifetime membership in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her favorite pastimes included traveling throughout Europe and the U.S., playing golf, watching the Red Sox and Patriots play, and visiting family in Connecticut and Kansas. Lorraine will be sadly missed by her loving children, Phyllis (Smith) Brade and her husband, John of Wolcott, and Clifford Smith and his wife, Cynthia Schmitt, of Shawnee, KS, her brother, Ronald Robillard and his wife, Jacqueline, of N. Smithfield, RI. Her legacy continues with her cherished grandchildren, Pamela, Darlene, Melanie, Jessica, Aaron and Everett, and beloved great grandchildren, Hannah, Evan, John and Megan, and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by a sister, Yvette, and brothers, Leo and infant Roger. The family would like to express their gratitude to the exceptional caregivers and friends at Mulberry Gardens, Plantsville, Wolcott View Manor, St. Marys Hospital and the Vitas Hospice Unit at St. Marys Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 9:30 from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to St. Maria Goretti Church for a funeral mass at 10 am. Burial at Edgewood Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
