Obituary

Lorenzo Petta, 89, was reunited in heaven with his wife Patricia, on June 22, 2026 and was surrounded by his loving family when he passed.

Lorenzo was born on August 10, 1936 in Castelmauro, Campobasso, Italy to Felice and Maria (Trolio) Petta. Lorenzo immigrated to the United States in 1955. He worked as a concrete mason throughout his career until his retirement in 2015. His craftsmanship can be found on projects throughout New England and New York. Lorenzo was a Wolcott resident for 57 years before returning to Waterbury.

Lorenzo and Pattie loved to take cruises. They traveled to many destinations including the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and Italy. Lorenzo was known for his meticulous landscaping and gardening. He often shared his bounty with family and friends. Lorenzo loved a good card game. While at The Village, he taught his sisters and granddaughters how to play rummy. He also enjoyed relaxing with a glass of Johnnie Walker Red with a splash of water.

Lorenzo was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Joyce (David) Robinson of Cumming, GA and Susanne (Jeff) Bajek of Land O Lakes, FL; and his granddaughters, Donna Robinson and Leanne Robinson. He is also survived by his sisters, Anna Petta and Phyllis Botelle; sisters-in-law, Elda Petta, Theresa Petta, and Ruth Pellot; and many special nephews and nieces. Lorenzo also leaves behind his lifelong friend, Francis Jalbert, and a wonderful extended family and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Lorenzo was predeceased by his brothers, Mario Petta Sr. and Angelo Petta Sr.; and nephews, Mario Petta Jr. and Gino Petta.

Lorenzo’s family would like to thank the staff of The Village of East Farms for their exceptional care and service given to Lorenzo during his residency. The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Oltjon Albajrami and his staff for their expert guidance and unwavering compassion and dedicated care.
