It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda (Choiniere) Rossi on Wednesday January 7, 2026 at her home in Waterbury at the age of 75.
Linda was born on August 2, 1950 to Leo and Lillian Choiniere of Waterbury. She graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School and from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing where she met her life-long friend, Patti Faccin Lamonica. Linda started her nursing career as a staff nurse in obstetrics at Yale New Haven Hospital. Later in her career, Linda provided blood pressure screenings at local pharmacies.
In 1971, Linda married her best friend, Joseph Rossi and they remained happily married for 54 years until her death.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her beloved children, Scott Rossi and his wife Nenette, her daughter Kristen Rossi D’Urso and her husband Marco, and her grandchildren Jasmine Rossi, and Lollia and Gianluca D’Urso.
Linda’s favorite place was Cape Cod where she and Joe traveled frequently throughout their time together. Linda and Joe also enjoyed camping, a pastime they especially cherished after retirement. She loved being a mother, and then caring for her three grandchildren. Linda loved to read and spend time with her family and friends. A lifelong cat lover, Linda found great comfort and joy in the many cats who were part of her family over the years. Linda was a devoted Red Sox fan, a love of the game she inherited from her father.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Linda’s life on Saturday January 31 at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Calling hours from 1 to 3 PM, with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 PM. Linda’s remains will be privately laid to rest by her family. Woodtick Memorial is honored to serve the Rossi Family. Visit www.woodtickmemorial.com to post condolences and tributes.
Linda’s family extends a special thanks to AccentCare Palliative Care Hospice for all their caring and support.
