WOLCOTT - Mrs. Leonie Y. Guerin, 95, formerly of Waterbury, passed away at her home in Wolcott on Thursday while surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Conrad Guerin.
Leonie was born on November 17, 1917 in New Brunswick, Canada daughter of the late Joseph and Phillipine (Poulin) Dion.
Leonie moved to the United States with her family in 1924. She attended St. Annes elementary School. She was a parishioner of St. Anne Church, St. Michaels Church and then was a communicant to St. Pius X Church after moving to Wolcott with her daughter Noella. After twenty-five years of loyal service at Truelove and Maclean, she retired. Leonie enjoyed many hobbies such as baking, card playing, bingo, gardening, reading and crocheting. She loved the company of all her grandchildren.
Leonie Guerin is survived by her daughters, Arlene Leduc of Meriden, Noella Doucet of Wolcott, Rita Magas of North Carolina: son-in-law Wilfred Doucet; and a daughter-in-law Jan Stocklinski-Doyon of North Carolina, four grandsons, six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Noel Doyon,a son Donald Doyon and sons-in-law, Leonard Leduc and Kenneth A. Magas.
A Mass and celebration of Leonies life will be held on Monday, Dec. 17th at 10:00a.m. at St. Pius X Church on Woodtick Rd, Wolcott. A private burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
