Bristol - Leonard E. Kent, 83 of Bristol, CT. passed away on Saturday July 9, 2022, at Uconn Hospital with his daughter Tammy by his side. He was born on December 7, 1938 in Ipswich, MA., son of the late Harold and Eleanor (Colburn) Kent .Lenny was an Elevator constructor master mechanic with Local #91 International Union of Elevator Constructors for 20 years. He entered the business with the help of his father in law William Vlk October 9, 1970, and worked for General Elevator in Hartford, CT. Lenny was well respected and that allowed him to get 4 generations of his family into the profession. Lenny was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Colorado from 11/92 to 12/2002 and Arizona form 2005 to 2010. Lenny was an avid golfer who loved living out west where he could golf year round. He was known for his love of hot dogs, whole belly fried clams and jelly donuts! He is predeceased by his two wives Kathy Kent and Betty Kent, his siblings Raymond Kent, Shirley Barrows, Ethelyn Praklis, Mildred Grous, Pauline Leavitt, Beverly Hawkes, Harold Kent JR., and Alfred Kent. He is survived by his 3 daughters Tammy Mears, Debbie Horton and her husband Patrick, and Sherrie Tate. 7 grandchildren Joshua, Sean, and Samantha Mears, Tony Chavez , Amanda Humphrey and Brian Horton, and Michael Elizondo, and 7 great grandchildren Grady and Finley Mears, Evelyn and Penelope Chavez, Asher and 2 others. A celebration of life ceremony will be held September 24, 2022 at Peterson Park 123 Mad River Road Ext. Wolcott, CT. 06716 at 1:00pm. Please RSVP to Tammy (203-228-8309) regarding attendance.
