Waterbury - Mr. Lawrence J. DiPersio, 79, formally of Waterbury and Wolcott, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Beacon Brook Healthcare in Naugatuck. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Patricia (Vellecko) DiPersio. Lawrence was born on January 29, 1937 in Waterbury, son of the late Vincent and Mary (Gagnon) DiPersio. Lawrence served honorably in the National Guard of the United States. He was a member of Teamsters Local 677 and worked as a truck driver for Laskas Trucking, Lombard Bros., and retired from Northeast Transportation. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, UConn Womans Basketball, and NASCAR fan. Besides his wife, Patricia, Lawrence is survived by his son, Doug DiPersio and his wife JoAnne of Waterbury; and two brothers, Richard and Vincent DiPersio. Family and friends may call on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Proceeding the calling hours, a funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the spring in Woodtick Cemetery.
