KENNETH E. HOUGHTALING
WOLCOTT ~ Kenneth E. Houghtaling, 77, of Wolcott passed away on Saturday, December 19th at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Josephine (Natelle) Houghtaling.
Mr. Houghtaling was born April 10, 1932 in Torrington, son of the late Norman Houghtaling and Irene (Gaura) Fortier. He was a US veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mill Plain Union Church and served as Church Deacon for many years. Ken was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He retired in 2002 from Nutmeg Screw Machine Products after 25 years of service. He was a family man who loved spending time with them.
Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves his daughters, Susan DeMezzo and her husband, Gary of Plymouth, Teresa Goffredo of Oakville, and Mary Schlossman and her husband, Alan of N.Y., his son, Norman of Washington, D.C., his brothers, Donald Fortier of Wolcott and Eugene Fortier of FL, his sisters, Lillian Wooster of Madison, Norma Moher of Watertown, and Arlene Morrone of FL, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 pm.
