It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Karen Fish on Sunday June 7, 2026, while under hospice care at the home on Pepper Dr. in Torrington.
Born on in Wolcott, CT on February 16, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Richard Fish Sr. who was also the former mayor of the town and the late Gladys (Cain) Fish. She was also predeceased by her sister Ann Mills. Karen was deeply loved by her family, friends, and caregivers. She shared a special bond with her brother Richard, whose unwavering love and support remained a constant throughout her life. In addition to her brother Richard Jr. “Rick” and his wife Susan Fish, left to cherish her memory are her four nieces and one nephew.
Karen was one of the original ladies of Pepper and played an important role in making the house a home. Known for her feisty spirit, strong independence, and unmistakable personality, Karen brought joy, laughter and lasting memories to all who knew her. Whether enjoying a glass of milk, sharing special moments with friends, or attending her beloved ice cream socials, she found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.
Karen will be remembered for her quiet strength, determination, humor, and warm heart. Her presence touched countless lives, and her memory will live on in the many people fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Karen’s Life will be celebrated on Friday June 19th with a graveside service beginning at 1 PM in Edgewood Cemetery 389 Boundline Rd. in Wolcott. A Celebration of Life Reception beginning at 4 PM on Friday afternoon will be held at the home on 26 Pepper Dr. in Torrington.
