Obituary

Justin Joseph Curtis, 51, born in Cambridge, MA, December 31st 1968, passed away March 6th, 2020 at VITAS in St. Mary's Hospital. Justin was survived by his mother Marie Carline Masiak, his sister Sandra Genua, and her husband, Joseph Genua Sr.; and his eldest sister Deborah Pelletier and her husband Tommy. Justin had a special relationship with his two nephews Joseph Genua Jr., Jonathan Genua, and his nieces Kelly Pleasant and Stacey Poirier. Justin was loved dearly by his extended family in Massachusetts, Georgia, and Utah. Justin will be missed throughout the community, especially by his neighbors and friends at the Carabettas in Waterbury. Justin was an active member of the Waterbury Special Olympics since he was eight years old. His specialties within the Olympics were track and field, and he continued to be an active bowler until his passing. Justin enjoyed spending his summers at Camp Harkness, where he participated in horseback riding, fishing, and camping with his friends. He was a member of the Waterbury Boy Scouts, and he earned his Eagle Scout in 2008. Justin spent his days engaging in different activities with the ARC of Waterbury, and he loved participating in all of their talent shows. A Celebration of Life for Justin will be held at the WARC, 1929 East Main Street, Waterbury on Saturday, March 14th at 5:00 p.m. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
