Obituary

We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Joyce (Crichton) Nadeau, 89, at Salterra at Largo in Largo, FL on Saturday November 1, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard N. Nadeau for 62 years.

Born in Waterbury on December 17, 1935, Joyce was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Griffin) Crichton. Joyce and Richard lived in Waterbury for most of their lives and in St. Petersburg, FL during their later years. She worked in the Assessor's and Tax Offices for the City of Waterbury for more than 20 years.

Joyce enjoyed cooking. Her St. Patrick's Day dinners will be missed by many. She enjoyed playing bingo, especially at the casino. Joyce loved to travel with her husband. She treasured family vacations, the last of which included four generations in Costa Rica. The thing that made her happiest was spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory and carry on her loving legacy are her daughter Laurie and her husband Doug Anton, whom she considered a son; her granddaughter Amy and her husband Lou Rossi; her great grandchildren Emerson, Sydney and Colin Rossi, who were the lights of her life; her sisters-in-law Jeannette Ouellette and Claudette Radzunas and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Richard N. Nadeau, Joyce was predeceased by her sons Richard J. Nadeau and David A. Nadeau and her granddaughter Katie Anton, as well as her sister Mary Cook and her brother George Crichton.

The celebration of Joyce's life will be on Saturday November 22, 2025 with calling hours beginning at 9 AM at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott until 10 AM.
