WOLCOTT ~ Joseph A. Zappone, 77, of Wolcott, passed away on Tuesday, March 23rd at Bucks Hill Rehabilitation Center in Waterbury. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Emanule) Zappone.
Mr. Zappone was born October 29, 1932 in Waterbury, son of the late Angelo and Dolores (Testa) Zappone. He retired from Truelove & Maclean after 4 years of service. Prior to working at Truelove & Maclean, he had been employed at Specialty Packaging Products for 20 years. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting, gardening and trips to the Casinos. He enjoyed working as a baker for Melittas and Queens Kitchen during his younger years.
Besides his wife, Maria of 44 years, he leaves his son, Angelo Zappone, and his wife, Jennifer, of Torrington; his daughters, Joanne & Debbie Zappone, and Sharon OBrien, all of Thomaston, his grandchildren Jennifer & Justin, and his great grandson Brandon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Friends are asked to meet at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
