IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph
Vaillancourt
March 25, 1942 – May 11, 2025
We sadly announce the passing of Joseph H. Vaillancourt, 83, beloved husband of Priscilla (Cote) Vaillancourt, on May 11, 2025.
Born in Biddeford, Maine on March 25, 1942, Joe was the son of the late Henri and Blanche (Guillette) Vaillancourt. A proud veteran, Joe honorably served in the United States Air Force. He remained deeply committed to his country and community throughout his life, serving as a past commander of American Legion Post 165 in Wolcott, and as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus with Wolcott Council 3961, where he was also a past Grand Knight.
A devout Roman Catholic, Joe was a faithful parishioner of St. Pius/St. Basil Parish. He was known for his generous spirit, his love of gardening, and his active volunteer work within the community. Following his retirement from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Joe and Priscilla fulfilled their shared dream of traveling the world together. For over five decades, they made their home in Wolcott, where they enjoyed being part of the local senior center community and volunteering at American Legion bingo nights.
Above all, Joe was a family man. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and took immense pride in their accomplishments.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Priscilla, Joe leaves behind a loving legacy through his children: John Vaillancourt and his wife Chris of Southwick, MA; James Vaillancourt and his wife Kristen of Watertown, CT; and Julie Sargeant of Pembroke, MA. He was a proud grandfather to Eric (Lacie) Vaillancourt, Ryan Vaillancourt, Carlie (Nick) Lappen, Maryn Vaillancourt, Jack Vaillancourt, Lauren Sargeant, and Joseph Sargeant, and a delighted great-grandfather to Hailey Vaillancourt and Charlotte Vaillancourt. He was predeceased by two beloved children, Joseph and Brian Vaillancourt, who passed away in infancy.
Joe is also survived by his brother, Maurice Vaillancourt, and three sisters, Dr. Priscilla Bush, Joan Mercer, and Frances Bergeron, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Joe's kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to family, faith, and country will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
