Obituary

JOSEPH THOMAS WOLCOTT ~ Joseph Thomas, 59, of Wolcott died Thursday, November 13 at Albany Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Meari Avery. Joseph was born March 12, 1949 in New Haven, son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Cassella) Baczek. He was a 1994 graduate of Trinity College with a B.A. in Psychology. He was a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor at Waterbury Hospital for 8 years and had also worked at the Morris Foundation for 8 years. He was an accomplished cabinet maker and carpenter who created beautiful furniture leaving a lifetime legacy for his family. He had 22 years of being Bill Ws friend and he reached out to many people to help them in their lifes journey. He enjoyed fly fishing and tied his own flies. He was a member of Trout Unlimited. He was an outdoorsman who appreciated nature and the beauty of Gods creations. Joe T. was sensitive to other peoples distress and he sought ways to reach out to them. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Gina Parillo of Hamden, a brother William Baczek and his wife Kathy of Manitou, KY, his twin grandsons, Jared and Christian Parillo, and two nephews. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 4 pm with the Rev. Richard Bollea officiating at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the funeral from 2 pm until the time of the service.
