JOSEPH L. MINERVINI
WOLCOTT ~ Joseph L. Minervini, 87, of Wolcott passed away on Friday, March 5th at St. Marys Hospital after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Mildred (Kalweit) Minervini.
Mr. Minervini, also known as "Joe Beanie" to his family and friends was born December 5, 1922 in Waterbury to the late Ortenzio and Rose (Papiano) Minervini. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson Grammar School and Leavenworth High School. He attained the rank of staff sergeant with the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII and was a member of the 357th Fighter Group serving in Europe. He retired from Century Brass after 45 years of service and attended services at the First Lutheran Church in Waterbury. "Joe Beanie" loved the outdoors, enjoyed his vegetable garden; but his focus was spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Mildred of 62 years, he leaves his daughters, Lorrie Minervini of Wolcott, and Jodie Bannister and her husband, Michael of LaGrange Park, IL, his grandchildren, Megan and Jeff, his sister, Theresa ONiel of Thomaston, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday at 11 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott with Pastor Diane Rainson officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
