Wolcott- Joseph James Colucci, 81, of Wolcott passed away at his home on June 15, 2013 after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband to Lorraine (Hill) Colucci for 54 years.
Joseph was born February 14, 1932 in Waterbury, son of the late John Silveo and Olga (Lango) Colucci. He was employed for many years as the owner of Mattatuck Amusement, a family owned vending business. Joseph was a graduate of Crosby High School and served in the US Navy. Mr. Colucci coached Pop Warner Midget Football for many years and was a member of the Elks as a fourth degree Knight. He was also a parishioner of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott.
Besides his wife Lorraine, he is survived by four daughters, Deborah Valentine of Waterbury, Dawn Rocco of Wolcott, Dale Colucci-Gibson and her husband Joe of Terryville, Dana McAuley and her husband Brian of Wolcott, nine grandchildren, a brother John Colucci Jr. of Florida, a sister, Joan Campoli of Terryville and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00am directly at St. Pius X Church. Burial will be private. Woodtick Memorial has been entrusted with his care. Memorial gifts may be made to VITAS, 199 Park Rd. Ext. Suite 102 Middlebury, CT 06762.
