WATERBURY ~ John, fondly known as "Porky" Mumford passed away on April 23, 2013 at Waterbury Hospital. John was born March 24, 1955 in New Haven, son of the late Charles and Rosemarie (Manacchio) Mumford. In his younger years, he participated in the Special Olympics representing Connecticut and the U.S.A. John had a love of music and had an affection for Elvis and Eddie Murphy. "Porky" had a smile that would light up the darkest room! He leaves his brothers, Michael Mumford of Bristol and Wayne Mumford of Madison, his sisters, Lucille Mumford of Miami, FL and Deborah Mumford of PA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles Mumford and Charles Manacchio and his sisters, Mabel Mumford, Mary Jane Duryea and Laura Mumford. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10 am at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 20 Catlin St., Meriden followed by burial at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven.
